Celebrate YOU this Valentine's Day

Some argue that Valentine’s Day is just a Hallmark Holiday, others say it’s for people who aren’t married and juggling life and three kids. Others put everything aside to celebrate with the one they love. But while you’re focusing on showing others how much you love, care, and respect them, what if you did something for yourself this year? After all, isn’t your self worth and self love important too?

Here are three ideas to celebrate YOU this Valentine’s Day

  1. Make a Vision Board Whether it’s cut out of magazines or done on Pinterest, take a few minutes to figure out first who you are. How does that make you feel? Are you happy with the who you are today? Are there changes or improvements you need to make in this space? Then, figure out where you want to go. Maybe you want to look back and your pre-baby days, maybe you want to start a career, find a hobby, get healthy, or read more. Whatever it is, invest some time, find those inspirational quotes, research those hobbies, and actually schedule a few hours of your busy week back into you. Trust me, you’re worth it.
  2. Find a Webinar Or Take A Class About Something That Interests You Maybe it’s how to become self employed, maybe it’s how to use that camera you got for Christmas, maybe want to learn about different career options, or perhaps you just want to learn how to paint. Whatever it is, there are hundreds of webinars and free classes at your fingertips. Experts around the globe are sharing their ideas, their experiences how to take the first step into becoming someone or something. Classes are offered at local colleges, through your city in the Rec & Ed department, or even at the library. This is an easy way to find out if something is for you.
  3. Invest in YOU If you’re anything like me, you put your whole day into your family, your children, your job, and your community. Putting your life and effort into others is important, but don’t forget to take the time for yourself. If you schedule a few hours to update your resume, chat with an old friend, visit a bookstore or, just sit down with a good cup of coffee and relax, you’re investing in yourself to refresh, renew and regenerate. After all, you're worth it.
